Oh My WORDle!

I just discovered the best thing ever, or at least the best thing this week. I am probably one of the last people on the earth to know about this, but it is so cool! Wordle! You just plug in whatever words you want, change the layout, font, and color and you have your very own word cloud. This would make a great gift or "art" piece in your haven! It is free, customizable, and you can use it however you want.  I think I am going to enlarge it, print it, and put it on the wall. Here is what I did for the last 2 hours!

Which one is your favorite?

Nate Berkus is having "Week of Rooms" on his new show. Although Lumberjack and I love doing our remodeling, I wouldn't mind a little help!

Oh My Craft Store!

So, I love a good craft store. If you know me, you know that.  I literally could and have spent hours in one. I have to go down every aisle and if I don't see everything I want to, I get anxiety. Is there something wrong with me? Yes, yes there is. I had been wanting to get to Michaels to see what Fall items I could get and magically make into decor. I am not much of a Halloween decorator, but more seasonally, and when I say seasonally, I mean Fall and Christmas and that's it. My inspiration came from the latest Pottery Barn catalog. I have about 10,000 candles in a variety of sizes from my previous life as an event planner, so I decided to bust them out and see what I can do with them.  Here is some more inspiration for Fall Decor. Check back soon to see what I ended up doing!

Modern Cottage Kitchen

I am a curious person and if I was allowed, I would go to school forever wandering about taking classes in everything from Forensics to cooking. I am a weird one. Anyway......I am in an Interior Design program which I love and we were tasked to design a Cottage Kitchen. Here is what I came up with.
I loved the play on rustic elements like the oil rubbed bronze fixtures and sink with the modern (and super rad) appliances, inset cabinets, and lighting. Who wants to make me a pumpkin pie in this kitchen? Yes please!

This is what happens when I am early!

As my friends and family know, I am almost always late. I try really hard to be on time and it rarely happens.I am sorry guys! Lumberjack hates to wait and somehow I haven't been dumped yet. So... I had a dinner date with my friend Angie last Thursday at Arts & Letters Cafe (where my brother Avery is a chef) and I had 1 hour to spare before meeting her. Since I barely have time to even brush my hair, I didn't know what to do with it. I had decided to park and walk to the restaurant and along the way, I stopped into Cost Plus World Market. Within the next 10 minutes, I was at the register with a cow hide rug (I have been searching for a great one),faux fur pillow, and faux fur throw. Give me time and I will SHOP. I am concerned my house will be full of animal skins-real and fake. I'm on a roll here. Check out my finds below. They were all a great price, good quality and perfect  for Fall.

Hello Blogland!

Hello all!
Welcome to my blog, Haven Found! I have been wanting to start a blog for awhile and decided now is as good a time as any. I am hoping to network, archive my findings and thoughts, and document my "missions"-the first one being Lumberjack and my newly bought home that needs a little TLC. Lumberjack is in the trade which means free labor!!:) We love our neighborhood and our dogs have a backyard. Follow me as I find out what makes a home into a haven.
